SCAD Scouts Promising Prospects
During the upper level’s morning assembly on the 31st of August, Mr. Danny Li, the Assistant Director of Admission at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) Hong Kong, visited MITIS to inform students about the great opportunities offered by the college. Based in Savannah, Georgia in the United States and with several campuses across the globe, SCAD is a highly ranked art school known to particularly excel in the fields of fashion and interior design.
The students were treated to being the first in the Philippines to see SCAD’s newest promotional video presentation that emphasized the school’s cutting-edge art programs and the great career prospects that await students after graduation. After the morning assembly, students interested in pursuing the arts were invited to remain in the Multipurpose Hall to learn more about the programs SCAD offers and further discuss their prospects of studying there.
Those who stayed were given more in-depth views at a few of SCAD’s courses of interest as well as a guideline on how they may apply to SCAD and even be considered for scholarships. An impromptu interview was done with volunteer Myra Joanna Arce in order to give an example of what to do when being interviewed for admission. For her performance in the impromptu interview and for their luck in a random drawing of lots, Arce as well as Rose Antonette McKeon received prizes from SCAD. Students were also highly impressed by the quality of artistry and achievements exhibited by SCAD students and alumni alike. Because of the remarkable programs and artistic achievements of SCAD, many of the students interested in arts consider the college to be a viable option for them to possibly pursue in the future.
